Dr. Lee is part of a team that has published “Transitional Justice and Health, Happiness, and Solidarity: An Analysis of the 2020 National Survey in Taiwan” on International Journal of Social Determinants of Health and Health Services. Using Taiwan as a case study, this research examines how attitudes toward transitional justice relate to well-being and self-defense solidarity in a post-authoritarian society facing geopolitical threats. Based on a 2020 national survey, the study finds that support for recognizing past state violence and promoting reconciliation is positively associated with physical health, happiness, and willingness to defend society against external political violence.
