Extended Call for Abstracts - 7th APAC 2026 (New Deadline: 15 April 2026)

We are pleased to inform you that the Call for Abstracts for the 7th Asian Population Association Conference (APAC 2026) has been extended to 15 April 2026.

The conference will be held in Hanoi, Viet Nam, from 24–27 November 2026, in collaboration with the Viet Nam Population Authority (VNPA), Ministry of Health, and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA).

We warmly invite researchers and practitioners to submit abstracts and participate in this important regional and international forum.

Dr. Tuo-Yu Chen has been invited to serve as an Associate Editor for the Sleep Health journal

Tuo-Yu Chen has been invited to serve as an Associate Editor for the Sleep Health journal by the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Susan Redline, MD, MPH, at Harvard Medical School.

The Sleep Health journal is the official journal of the National Sleep Foundation in the USA. This multidisciplinary journal examines the role of sleep in population health from various disciplinary and stakeholder viewpoints. It is published by Elsevier.

Project Awarded 2026 Academia Sinica Grand Challenge Program Seed Grant

The project “Economic Valuation of Informal Care in Aging Societies: A Comparative Study of Current Burden and Future Projections in Taiwan and Singapore” (Project No. AS-GCS-115-H03), led by PI Chi‑Tsun Chiu (Academia Sinica), together with Co‑PIs John Pastor Ansah (Case Western Reserve University), Chetna Malhotra (National University of Singapore), Rahul Malhotra (National University of Singapore), Ching‑Ju Chiu (National Cheng Kung University), Ying‑Ting Wang (Yuan Ze University), and Yao‑Chi Shih (National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences), has been selected for funding under the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences in the 2026 1st Round Academia Sinica Grand Challenge Program Seed Grant.

Population & Social Data Science Summer Incubator – MPIDR 2026

The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research is looking for motivated PhD and master students to join their 3-month summer program in Rostock, Germany.

Work in teams on cutting-edge research combining data science and social science, gain practical experience, attend lectures, and aim for a journal publication. Travel costs and living expenses will be supported for selected participants.
