Dr. Zang is a part of the team that has published “Benchmarking weighted estimates of social determinants of Health in the National Health and Aging Trends Study (NHATS)” on The Journals of Gerontology, Series A: Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences. This study evaluated whether weighted estimates from the National Health and Aging Trends Study (NHATS) accurately reflected socioeconomic disadvantage among older U.S. adults. Using a nationally representative sample of 8,245 Medicare beneficiaries aged 65 and older, researchers compared NHATS estimates with U.S. Census benchmarks, highlighting potential underrepresentation of socioeconomic factors in survey weighting procedures.
