Dr. Solé-Auró is a part of the team that has recently published “Health across Generations in Europe. The role of Age, Gender, and Education” in Journal of Population Ageing. Using 18 years of SHARE data, this study examined health trajectories across six European birth cohorts from age 50 onward. Younger cohorts experienced better self-perceived health and delayed multimorbidity, suggesting morbidity compression. Gender health inequalities narrowed across cohorts, but educational disparities persisted, with higher-educated individuals consistently reporting better health. The findings underscore the need for policies addressing persistent socioeconomic health inequalities in ageing populations.
