Dr. Malhotra is a part of the team that has recently published “Racial and ethnic disparities among older adults with autism spectrum disorder: a scoping review” in Aging & Mental Health. This scoping review examined racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare among older adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Only eight studies met the criteria, highlighting a major research gap. Minority older adults with ASD experienced greater physical and psychological comorbidity burdens, lower treatment and outpatient service use, and reduced access to supportive accommodations. The findings emphasize the need for inclusive, population-specific research.
