Rationale, Design, and Baseline Characteristics of the TARGET (Targeted Assessment and Recruitment of Geriatrics for Effective Fall Prevention Treatments) Cohort of Older Adults for Assessing Fall and Fracture Risk: Prospective Cohort Study
Dr. Visaria and Dr. Malhotra are part of the team that has recently published “Rationale, Design, and Baseline Characteristics of the TARGET (Targeted Assessment and Recruitment of Geriatrics for Effective Fall Prevention Treatments) Cohort of Older Adults for Assessing Fall and Fracture Risk: Prospective Cohort Study” in JMIR aging. This study describes TARGET, a national prospective cohort of 2,291 Singaporean adults aged 60 and older, using wearable sensors, finite element models, virtual reality, and electronic medical records to improve fall and fracture risk prediction. Baseline findings show significant functional, psychosocial, cognitive, and biomechanical differences between fallers and nonfallers. View Publication: https://doi.org/10.2196/89285
