Dynamic Contributions of Chronic Diseases to the Widening Educational Gap in Disability and Mortality, 2002–2018: A Research Note
Dr. Zheng has recently published “Dynamic Contributions of Chronic Diseases to the Widening Educational Gap in Disability and Mortality, 2002–2018: A Research Note” in Demography. This study examines how chronic diseases contributed to widening educational gaps in disability and mortality from 2002 to 2018. Using data from 419,873 participants, findings show that differences in disease-outcome associations, rather than disease prevalence, drove much of the widening gaps, particularly for mental illness, cardiovascular, liver, lung, and musculoskeletal diseases.
