From Discrimination to Unmet Healthcare Needs and Care (Dis)Satisfaction among Urban-Dwelling Indigenous Taiwanese Adults: A Path Analysis
Dr. Chen is a part of the team that has recently published “From Discrimination to Unmet Healthcare Needs and Care (Dis)Satisfaction among Urban-Dwelling Indigenous Taiwanese Adults: A Path Analysis” in Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities. This study examines how everyday discrimination affects healthcare outcomes among urban-dwelling Indigenous Taiwanese adults. Survey data from 443 participants showed that discrimination increased perceived barriers, reduced patient activation, and weakened provider relationships. These pathways mediated its effects on unmet healthcare needs and care satisfaction, highlighting targets for culturally responsive interventions.
