Fluid emotions, managed disruption: Understanding involuntary state-led resettlement in Singapore
Dr. Ang is a part of the team that has recently published “Fluid emotions, managed disruption: Understanding involuntary state-led resettlement in Singapore” in Cities. This study examines the experiences of low-income public rental residents undergoing involuntary state-led resettlement in Singapore. Interviews reveal that emotions and actions during relocation are shaped by prior experiences with the state, social services, neighborhoods, and housing histories. The findings highlight relocation’s psychological costs and inform more responsive resettlement policies. View Publication: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cities.2025.106742
