Bussarawan "Puk" Teerawichitchainan is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Co-Director of the Centre for Family and Population Research at the National University of Singapore. Her research interests lie at the intersection of family demography, social gerontology, medical sociology, social stratification, and Southeast Asia. Her ongoing research projects examine 1) how individuals navigate aging and health with limited family ties and 2) how early-life exposure to war has implications for health, well-being, and social relationships in late adulthood. She is Deputy Editor of Demography and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Gerontology, Series B: Psychological and Social Sciences, Asian Population Studies, and Social Science & Medicine.
