Dr. Feinuo Sun is a demographer and population health scientist who studies how social determinants, especially demographic and socioeconomic characteristics and contextual environments, shape population health disparities. Her research particularly addresses the spatial dimension (rural-urban, environmental, policies) of pain and pain-related outcomes, using data at both the individual and ecological levels. Before joining UTA, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Global Aging and Community Initiative, Mount Saint Vincent University on an NIH-funded grant "Demography of Chronic Pain." She earned her Ph.D. from the University at Albany in Sociology with a graduate certificate in Demography.
