Huijing Wu holds her Ph.D. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University. Her research training focuses on demography and family studies. Research interests include aging and the life course, shifts in family structure, caregiving, health, and well-being in later life. She is an Assistant Research Fellow (equivalent to an Assistant Professor) at the Institute of European and American Studies (IEAS), Academia Sinica, Taiwan. Recent research has focused on the association between family structure and care gaps among older adults across various nations. The ongoing work investigates how older adults plan for or prepare their caregiving arrangements in later life, particularly those with small family networks or no close kin.
